Glasgow RD 1855-73

Over the years as Glasgow expanded and absorbed its surrounding  villages, new Registration Districts were created, others subdivided or just disappeared. The list below shows those in use for the period 1855 to 1873. Also included are the subdivisions of Barony and Govan R.D., prefixes 622 and 646, respectively, immediately adjacent to Glasgow. One cautionary note, I am trying to confirm the subdivision number for Partick, it appears on the original documents as "3", I suspect however that it should be "2", until I find otherwise, I'll leave it as in the original. I hope you will find this list of some use in your research. A map showing the relative locations of districts to each other for this period can be found here.
